At South Point Pet Hospital, caring for pets is our passion.

Here, we treat pets like family. We understand how important your companion is to you — because they’re there for you through the thick and thin of life, with a wagging tail or a happy purr, and unconditional love. Our goal is to be your partner in taking care of your pet’s physical and mental wellbeing, so you can enjoy many happy years together. So, whether your pet needs a checkup with a doctor… a caring team and top-notch medical treatments when they’re ill… or, some advice on the best food for them or how to care for them at home — we’re here for you! Here, we see dogs and cats. And, we’ll strive to make their visit a comfortable and positive experience. Come in and get to know us, and see why both you and your pet will love coming here!

    Dr. Soniya Sinha

Dr. Soniya Sinha grew up in Eastern India and remembers always wanting to be a veterinarian. She graduated summa cum laude from the Birsa Agricultural University in Ranchi and worked as an Animal Husbandry Officer in the State Animal health department (mixed animal practice). She was inspired to do an MS degree in Animal Genetics and Breeding at the National Dairy Research Institute in India; then located to the United States for graduate studies where she worked in cancer genetics research but realized that she greatly missed her interactions with her four-legged friends and moved on to the daunting task of getting a veterinarian license in the United States. She has worked as a clinic manager and volunteered at a local shelter. She completed a six month intensive and highly rewarding veterinarian training program at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, and obtained her coveted veterinarian license in 2014. She also participated in an emergency and specialty rotating Internship and since then she has taken on the highly satisfying task of caring for her patients. She believes that the living beings at both ends of the leash deserve excellent care. She is also a strong advocate of client education and enjoys troubleshooting pet care issues with them. She has special interests in preventative care, imaging and ultrasound diagnosis of disease, surgery, internal medicine, dentistry, and emergency medicine. Her goal is to provide excellent client service and exemplary patient care.

She lives in picturesque Davidson, NC with her husband, who is a scientist in the UNC system. She enjoys gardening, cooking, hiking and nature photography in her spare time. They both enjoy traveling and have visited several beautiful destinations in the US northeast. They recently rescued an adorable Pitbull called Cheeto.

Our Happy Pet Parents

  • The staff is very kind and knowledgeable. Both of our family pets go once a year for a check up. The doctor is never rushed and gives each client the full time.

  • Y'all... my sweet cat had a great visit and everyone was so nice. He was scared to death but they were great. The real joy came after his visit. He escaped his carrier and ran! I was nearly in tears and could find him. Three employees came out to help me. Once he was located under a vehicle, one precious worker crawled under the vehicle to get him! Above and beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend.
